Wacky School Science - Learning Through Laughter
Story  Telling
Before we invented writing mankind sat around the fireside and swapped stories. We never stopped. And few countries have an oral tradition as strong as Ireland.

Have a real seanchai visit your school and recreate the stories of the Celtic or the European tradition.
From the moment Tony arrives in his nightshirt, with his goodnight candle, you know you are in for a show with a difference. This is Grimm's Fairy Tales as you have never heard them before - full of laughter, energy and audience participation. The tradition of the seanchai for the twenty first century.

This show is also educational, as Tony explains how stories are collected by folklorists, and how stories evolve with time. The show incorporates drama, puppetry and ventriloquism to great effect.

The seanchai or storyteller is an important figure in Irish folklore. In this show Tony explores the Irish tradition by telling some of the greatest stories ever told - stories of romance and intrigue, passion, magic and drama.

Great stories and lyrical poetry are mixed with puppetry and laughter to give an hour the children will remember for the rest of their lives.
Tony is a published author (eight books and counting) and Grimm Times has been a popular feature in libraries throughout Munster over the past number of years, as a key part of National Book Week. The show was also staged weekly at Trabolgen Resort, Cork, throughout the summer of 2010.
